Three to try in .......

In some places only a few pubs have been visited and it seems a shame to ignore perfectly fine hostelries because of this. Therefore, as the title says, here are some to see during a quick visit.

The Victoria is not much to look at from the outside but is a lovely little pub inside. An all time favourite pub. It is very traditional but not olde worlde.

real ale: The beers available were all local ales. Big Lamp Bitter (Big Lamp Brerw.) Stud (Nick Stafford's brewery), Red Dust (Consett), Wylam Gold tankard (Wylam brewery), Magnus (Durham brewery)

Half Moon Inn looks old and has been well polished up to become an attrractive half horseshoe servery. Further seating down a few stairs.

The Shakespeare looks old and is old. It has not even been polished up. Has many small rooms. It claims to be cosy and intimate, and with rooms this size that has to be true.
